The team are hoping the as-yet unnamed car, along with their driver line-up of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, will help them return to the front of the field. They scored just one victory last season, and ended the year fourth in the standings - a far cry from their traditional championship-challenging ways.
“We are working hard to recover the performance gap that we had last year, team principal Stefano Domenicali explained on Ferraris official website. “For sure the numbers looks quite interesting but as always we need to wait and see what the situation is. I am expecting to see results from the hard work weve carried out over the winter.
“I am expecting us to be one of the most competitive teams. When you are leading this team, you need to do the maximum you can to be successful. Everyone working in the team feels this and they are looking forward to showing their real value.”
Domenicali also revealed that seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi is scheduled to test again for the team. Rossi is no stranger to Formula One power and last sampled a Ferrari in November 2008. He will be in action in an older car in Barcelona for two days from January 20.
