Caterham have announced that Cyril Abiteboul has been promoted to team principal with immediate effect, taking over from team founder Tony Fernandes. Abiteboul will combine the role with his current responsibilities as CEO, a post he took up in September after joining Caterham from engine suppliers Renault.

HRT engineer Toni Cuquerella has been promoted to take over the role of technical director at the Spanish team. The position has been vacant since Geoff Willis left for Mercedes back in September 2011.

Fernando Alonso to stay at Ferrari until 2016
Fernando Alonso will remain at Ferrari until at least the end of 2016 after renewing his technical and racing deal, it was revealed on Thursday. Alonso joined the Italian team in 2010 after stints with Renault and McLaren, and over his 23 Grands Prix with Ferrari has taken five wins, 11 podiums, two pole positions and 293 world championship points.
Team Lotus purchase Caterham Cars
The Lotus Formula One team announced on Wednesday that they have acquired Caterham Cars, the British sportscar makers most famous for their lightweight Seven machine, which evolved from the Colin Chapman-designed Lotus Seven of the 1950s.
Ferrari to celebrate their 800th Grand Prix in Turkey
This weekend’s Turkish race will be a very special one for Ferrari, as it will be the Italian team’s 800th Grand Prix. And to celebrate reaching such a momentous milestone, a special commemorative logo will be placed on the engine covers of both F10s for the duration of the Istanbul Park event.
