Ferrari classics to go on show at Bahrain race

User Rating: / 0
During the forthcoming Bahrain Grand Prix fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with an array of historic Ferrari Formula One cars, as the Italian company continues celebrations to mark its 60th anniversary with a special exhibition.

Amongst the cars on display will be a priceless 166MM sports car, one of the first to be built by the legendary Enzo Ferrari following World War Two, and a 1959 version of the Ferrari Dino 246, the car in which Mike Hawthorn became 1958 world champion. Another rarity to be exhibited will be the Pininfarina Sigma design study, built to demonstrate possible advances in driver safety and based on the 1967 Ferrari 312 Formula One car.

“There are very few motor manufacturers with the panache, achievement and heritage of Ferrari,” said Martin Whitaker, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit. “Scuderia Ferrari is one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, with 60 years of achievement in the world of Formula One and international sports car racing, and we are delighted to have this feast of iconic cars on display at our Grand Prix.”

Alongside the classics from its racing heritage, a selection of the Italian companys road cars will also be exhibited, including a 1967 Ferrari 275 NART Spyder - one of only ten built. The 1988 F40, 1995 F50 and 2003 Enzo will also be on show, alongside the unique Ferrari P4/5, a one-off US$4 million masterpiece.

The event will take place at the Bahrain International Circuits new-look Formula One village from 4-6 April.
