Force India reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg and manager Willi Weber are to part ways. The reasons for the split have not been revealed, but Hulkenberg has announced he will manage his own affairs from now on with additional PR help.
A statement published on Hulkenberg’s official website on Friday said: "The 23 year-old Formula One driver from now on takes management matters in his own hands. Both sides are currently working on a smooth changeover and a satisfying solution for everyone. Hulkenberg will from now on be supported in executing his management issues by his former PR advisor Timo Gans.”
Weber is best known for previously managing the career of seven-time champion Michael Schumacher. Hulkenberg joined Force India as reserve over the winter, after being dropped by Williams at the end of his first Formula One season in 2010. Hulkenberg finished his maiden year 14th in the championship with 22 points and took a memorable pole position at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
