Prodrive submits Formula One entry for 2010

Prodrive Chairman David Richards confirmed on Friday that the UK company has lodged an entry for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, after agreeing financial backing from investment bank Dar Capital. Richards said that while the FIAs planned budget cap for next year was higher than originally expected, Prodrive had decided the time was right to join the Formula One ranks.

Lola to submit 2010 Formula One entry

British race car makers Lola have announced they will be lodging an entry for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship after completing their evaluation of the technical regulations for cost-capped teams announced by the FIA last month.

McLaren braced for FIA verdict

40 million budget cap and 13 teams for 2010

Formula One racings governing body, the FIA, has revised its budget cap plans for 2010. Teams signing up for the optional cap must limit their spending to 40 million per year (10 million higher than originally proposed) in exchange for greater technical freedom. This will not include driver salaries or, for 2010 only, engine costs.

Driver number changes for Ferrari, Toro Rosso and Brawn

The FIA have issued a revised entry list for the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship, with driver number changes at three teams.
At Ferrari, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen swap numbers, with Massa now taking number 3 in line with his higher position in the 2008 drivers championship.

Formula One racings governing body, the FIA, has approved a change to the points systems for this years drivers championship, which will see the title awarded to the driver with the most race wins. The rest of the standings, from second to last place, will be decided by the current points system.

Barcelona day two - McLaren one-two in testing

McLaren retained their grip on the Barcelona timesheets on Tuesday as Lewis Hamilton again set the pace at this weeks multi-team test at Spain's Circuit de Catalunya. Hamiltons best time, a 1m 21.234s, put him two-tenths of a second clear of Heikki Kovalainen in the second MP4-23.
